How To Overcome The Driver Slice!!

This is perhaps the most requested lesson. Most people who come in for a lesson generally are quite okay with their shorter irons but as soon as the Driver comes out, the slice dramatically appears. Now when you look closely it's not that the Driver slice appears out of nowhere, there are clues when looking at your ball flight with all clubs even down to a wedge. The reason being is that any bad habit that you have will exaggerate the longer the club gets due to length of shaft, decreased loft and increased speed of swing.

Now the first element that you must address particularly the Driver is set-up. It accounts for around 80% of all bad shots. The first to address is alignment. Alignment is often an overlooked element in set-up but is so pivotal to ensure your path and weight transfer are correct. With alignment you want to ensure that your clubface is pointing straight at the target with your body parallel left. Your body body includes your shoulders, feet, knees and hips. Someone who slices the ball tends to have one part of their body aiming too far to the left.
