The Quickest Way To Fix Your Slice!!

One of the quickest and easiest ways to cure a slice in golf is by changing your setup and learning how to create a more “in to out” swing path. A very simple drill that works extremely well for this is placing your right foot slightly behind your left foot at address. This small adjustment can instantly help golfers who struggle with coming over the top and slicing the golf ball.
The reason this drill works so well is because it naturally changes the direction your body wants to swing. When your right foot drops back, your stance becomes slightly closed, which encourages the club to travel more from the inside on the downswing. Most golfers who slice the ball swing too far across the golf ball from out to in, which creates left to right spin. By placing the right foot behind the left, it becomes much easier to shallow the club and swing more towards the target line.
For many beginners, trying to consciously fix a slice with complicated swing thoughts can become very difficult. This is why setup changes and drills are often the fastest way to improve ball flight. Instead of thinking about multiple positions during the swing, the body starts moving more correctly almost automatically because of the way the feet are positioned.
Another important benefit of this drill is that it helps improve body rotation through impact. Golfers who slice often have poor sequencing and throw the club over the top with the upper body. When the right foot is dropped back, it allows the hips and body to rotate more naturally through the shot while helping the club approach the ball from a better angle.
When performing this drill, you do not need a massive adjustment. Even moving the right foot back a few inches can make a huge difference. From there, simply feel like you are swinging out towards right field if you are a right-handed golfer. This promotes a more in to out path and helps create a straighter ball flight or even a controlled draw.
A great way to practise this is on the driving range by starting with small half swings. Focus on making smooth swings and pay attention to the ball flight. If done correctly, you should start seeing the ball curve less to the right and begin launching straighter. As confidence builds, you can gradually increase the length and speed of the swing.
If you look at many elite golfers, they all create an in to out delivery with good body rotation through impact. While every swing looks different, one thing the best players do extremely well is delivering the club from the inside instead of cutting across the ball. This is one of the biggest keys to consistent ball striking and distance.
For golfers struggling with a slice, this is one of the best drills to start with because it is simple, easy to understand, and produces immediate feedback. Often, one small setup adjustment can completely change the way the club moves through impact and make the game far more enjoyable.
