How Can Bryson's Drill Help You Overcome Your Slice??

Bryson has a very simplified way of how to transition on the downswing. This drill primarily helps with people who slice the ball or those who find it hard to understand what moves first on the downswing. This drill assumes that your alignment and set-up are neutral followed by having the takeaway in the right position. Only then can you use Bryson's cues on how to transition on the downswing.
Now keeping in mind that you have a neutral set-up and your alignment is square, you then want to to ensure that when you reach the first position (parallel to the ground), that the clubhead and hands form a straight line. From this position you then want to have further rotation of your body where the hands are directed over the right shoulder.
Now the key part to this drill is how you transition into the downswing. You want to first feel the weight moving onto your left side. This is usually around 70% without turning the body. You also want to ensure that when you do move onto your left foot that your lower half is initiating. Try and feel the left hip bump laterally to the left around 1-2 inches followed by the upper half shifting over.
The final part is then ensuring the hands drop down to your pocket again without turning the body. You can then rotate through the ball and shift any further weight through the ball. The reason why this works so well, is that it conditions your arms to stay behind you while you shift your weight. Most people when they transition onto the downswing, tend to turn the body first which pushes their hands away from their body, causing an outside-in swing path. This is the genesis of a slice.
If you master Bryson's Drill you will start hitting straighter shots and possibly even Draws.
