The Keys Of Taking The Range Swing To The Course!!

We've all been there where we've struck them very well on the range only to be disappointed when we venture onto the course. It seems often confusing as we will feel nothing's changed however being on the course has unfortunately caused our game to take a turn for the worse. The biggest reason why there is such a shift is simply most of us don't prepare on the range as if we were on the course.

The first steps to changing this is that there are two types of practice being technique practice and pre-shot routine. The times when you want to do technique practice is typically after a lesson and also when you're at least two to three days out from your competition. The worst time to do technique practice is when you're within one day of competition as you will be filled with too many swing thoughts when going to the course.

Now the other kind is where you'd be working on pre-shot routine. You want to be practicing this ideally within two days of your competition and even during your warm-up on game day. This is where you may have one to two swing thoughts max but hitting balls where you're going through a full routine as if you were on the course. This means walking in behind each shot and ensuring your alignment is correct and taking the same amount of time each time over the ball.

There are times however you may been hitting the ball really well in your warm-up or even up to two days before your competition and then feel totally different when you start playing. If this happens I would think carefully if you have been walking in behind each shot or just hitting one ball after another and not taking your time when at the Driving Range. If you hit one ball after another without walking in behind each shot, you could get a rude awakening on the course as the body and mind are not used to aiming at different targets and therefore could cause you to mis-hit shots simply by poor alignment.
